The Complejo Cultural Universitario was inaugurated on November 10th, 2008, as a set of architectural spaces and interactive plazas, responding to the commitment that the national public university has to the society that nourishes it and gives it life. It was conceived and built as an open door for the promotion of all of the cultural, artistic, scientific and technological expressions that our institution generates, and to host similar events which converge on us as a result of agreements with other national institutions and the rest of the world.
Efforts of the Universidad Autónoma de Puebla are concentrated in this Complejo Cultural Universitario to create an inclusive place that nourishes the way the community perceives, feels, lives and relates to the culture, improving its quality of life.
Mission
We are a space created to promote and disseminate art and culture and to integrate scientific and technological knowledge of the university community, in order to build values that will allow people to act and interact with sensitivity, knowledge and human qualities beforesociety and all those who represent culture. We evelop critical humanism as part of our duty and commitment to the University.
Vision
We will be an excellent, state-of-the-art space in art and culture, always maintaining a leadership position in everything that relates to cultural expressions, creating values that encourage the development of the university environment and society in general. We aim to provide quality and warmth in the promotion of culture, leisure and recreation, as well as maintain good service and teamwork as basic principles.
Technical Data
The Center is built on an area of 87,877 m2, based on the principles of minimalist architecture, which creates various sensations in space with minimal elements, causing maximum expression with minimum construction, through portals and elements that are as pure, clean, and significant as possible .
In the composition of this architecture, concepts such as synthesis, order, the repetition of elements and purity of the material were applied, using basic geometric shapes, with straight lines and shapes such as the cube and the rectangle standing out, creating clear, clean spaces .
The predominant color is white and a key element used in this architectural proposal was the use of light, both natural, creating contrasting light and dark shadows, and artificial light, manipulated in a series of color variations that make the Complejo Cultural space lively and cheerful.
It is important to emphasize that there is nothing like the Complejo Cultural Universitario from the Rio Grand to the Patagonia, being a concept that integrates several areas designated to art, culture, and academics, and much less so, a complex built by a public university, as isour case
