The Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla maintains an active
presence throughout the state of Puebla even though the majority of its
schools, faculties, institutes and administrative units are located in the
city of Puebla.

Within the city of Puebla, capital of the State of the same name, the Unversity occupies four principal areas or campuses: the Historical Center
campus, University City campus, the Health and Medical campus and the University Cultural Complex, as well as buildings housing the various Preparatory Schools, including the International Baccalaureate in the
Preparatoria “Cinco de Mayo” located in the municipality of Cuautlancingo in the greater Puebla area
Following the creation of the School of Veterinary Sciences In Tecamachalco, a regional secondary school “Preparatoria Simón Bolivar” in Atlixco and the School of
Agrohydraulics Engineering in Teziutlán, which were the
first schools to be established outside the city of Puebla,
the BUAP has striven to maintain a presence and active influence extending far beyond the state capital. From 1999
on, with the opening of the Tehuacán Regional Campus,
a Regionalization Program was developed which has permitted the University to provide service and coverage to
all the regions of the state.
To aid in this process, new spaces were established in
various municipalities throughout the state, with preparatory and undergraduate programs, as well as research and
outreach programs geared towards the productive sectors
in each region. These new spaces are known as Regional
Units and are the following:
1.Teziutlán: University Complex for Health Sciences with undergraduate
programsin Nursing, Odontology,Physiotherapy, Family and Community
Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Psychology.
4. Atlixco:with undergraduate programs in Tourism Administration,
Public Accounting, Communication.
5. Chiautlade Tapia: undergraduate program in Business Administration.
6.Tehuacán: with undergraduate programs in Law, Architecture, Graphic
Design,Odontology, Medicine,Business Administration, Political Science.
7. Acatzingo:with undergraduate programs in Business Administration,
8. Libres:with undergraduate programs in Business Administration,
9. Tetelade Ocampo: with undergraduate programs in Agroforestry
Engineering, Public Accounting.
10.Chignahuapan: with undergraduate programs in Law, Business
11.Zacapoaxtla: with undergraduate programs in Public Accounting,
12.Cuetzalan: with undergraduate programs in Tourism Administration,
13.Huauchinango: with undergraduate programs in Law, Business
Inaddition, the University has Regional Preparatory School Extensions in
tendifferent municipalities throughout the state.
