The Benemerita Universidad Atónoma of Puebla is one of the most prestigious educational institutions in our country, which is why their Library System is one of the most modern and up-to-date. It has one of the highest-quality and most complete infrastucture for libraries of newspapers and periodicals , in keeping with the times and needs of the university community. The most important mission of the Library Department is to offer quality management of resources and information services for the university community, thus contributing to academic development, research and cultural events. The main Library Department protects, encreces, organizes, and distributes the book collections to be found in each of its 52 libraries.

In line with its quality goals and the type of users it serves, the Library Department has a policy to provide library services, by continuing to improve and update their collections, that offer access to advanced information systems according to the ISO 9001:2000 quality model, all with a great spirit of service.

The coordination of collections and services in five area libraries, seventeen in Higher Academic Education Units, nine in Regional Higher Education school, ten in Institutes and Postgraduate Schools, nine in High schools and four Specialized Libraries, all constitute an effort meant to strengthen the basic BUAP Library System as a national leader in information services, based on a model of quality management.
